The Sustainable Development Unit at King Abdulaziz University seeks to raise awareness of sustainability concepts and implement initiatives that support the environment, society, and a sustainable economy. Students play a key role by participating in environmental research and projects, organizing awareness events, and contributing to the development of innovative solutions to environmental and social challenges. The unit also provides opportunities for students to develop their leadership and volunteer skills, which enhances their role in achieving sustainable development goals inside and outside the university.
The unit is based on providing a clear message and vision and works to achieve it through the programs it offers and provides them according to the following
Vision: Towards environmental awareness that achieves the preparation of qualified national cadres from King Abdulaziz University staff.
Unit message: Promoting the culture of sustainable development and protecting natural resources, and the Sustainable Development Unit adopts the seventeen goals adopted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and tries to achieve them through its various programs it offers.
Presentation of the Student Skill License Three versions of it were presented, which provides a unique training program that enhances the concepts of sustainable development through courses and workshops and concludes with qualifying and preparing the participant to present a project that serves sustainable development by presenting a project or product that achieves sustainable development and solves a problem in one of its seventeen goals and helps them in the future in providing development consultations for the participants' projects to see the light and become a tangible reality. The third version of the skill license served sixty participants.
Presentation of the Green University Initiative, which is concerned with supporting afforestation and involving female students in work to develop their sense of responsibility. The initiative received wide resonance and many participations.

The first international conference of the College of Human Sciences and Design at King Abdulaziz University, "Sustainability and Quality of Life", aims to shed light on contemporary experiences and expertise in the concept of quality and sustainability in various research and applied fields in human sciences and designs, especially those related to family and children, environment, health, and design. The conference seeks to achieve sustainability and improve the quality of life in line with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. This first-of-its-kind conference hosts scientists, experts, interested parties, and researchers from local and international universities, and a group of faculty members and students from King Abdulaziz University will participate in the conference. The conference will be held for two days, during which participants will present research papers and workshops. The conference is a distinguished event, and the scientific sessions will address vital topics, important issues, and innovative solutions to challenges at the local and international levels in sustainability and quality of life in a scientific environment that represents Saudi culture and heritage. The conference will also present studies and research within the specializations of the academic programs at the College of Human Sciences and Design.

The 16th Scientific Forum for Male and Female Students of King Abdulaziz University
This forum aims to be a unique platform for developing talents, supporting innovation, and harnessing and empowering student energies. This will contribute to achieving academic quality and excellence, and instill a sense of creativity and scientific responsibility among students, in an environment that encourages efficiency, effectiveness, and academic integrity. This will contribute to building a knowledge-based scientific community capable of facing challenges and achieving the aspirations of Vision 2030.
