King Abdulaziz University is celebrating the 95th Saudi National Day through cultural, artistic and heritage events that reflect national identity and promote belonging to the homeland.

King Abdulaziz University participated in the Sand & Fun 2025 Saudi General Aviation Exhibition through an interactive pavilion showcasing its academic and research programs and community initiatives. The pavilion attracted strong visitor interest and enabled direct engagement with students and faculty, reflecting the university’s commitment to community engagement and promoting awareness of science and technology through innovative educational and recreational experiences.


King Abdulaziz University participated in the 2025 Times Higher Education Global Summit, hosted by KAUST, showcasing its achievements in research, innovation, and student empowerment. The University also contributed to discussions on the future of medicine and public health and signed an MoU with KAUST to strengthen research and innovation collaboration.

King Abdulaziz University and the Social Development Bank (@SDB_sa) have signed a cooperation agreement to include academic programs on the Education Gate, enabling accessible educational financing, easing students’ financial burdens, and supporting human capital development in line with national goals.

King Abdulaziz University announced the launch of the Saudi Fellowship for Community Engagement, the first professional program of its kind in the Arab world. Accredited by the Scientific Endowment and developed in collaboration with the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and national partners, the fellowship aims to empower community engagement leaders across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
The program focuses on building professional and practical skills to create social and economic value and to strengthen collaboration between institutions and communities, in line with Saudi Vision 2030. It includes core modules on community engagement strategies, leadership, social entrepreneurship, governance, and impact evaluation, complemented by applied workshops. The fellowship will begin in November 2025, run for six months, and conclude with a capstone project delivering measurable community impact.

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of the Makkah Region, King Abdulaziz University launched the First Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference in Saudi Universities, held on 21–22 October 2025 under the theme “Idea, Invention, and Impact.” The conference brought together 22 Saudi universities to strengthen the role of higher education institutions in supporting economic development and the national innovation ecosystem.

The event featured 105 speakers through sessions, panel discussions, and workshops addressing key topics such as the knowledge economy, intellectual property, technology transfer, and investment in inventions, with participation from national entities including Monsha’at and the Research, Development & Innovation Authority. The conference aimed to promote a culture of innovation, align university outputs with labor market needs, and support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Focusing on four main tracks—innovation and entrepreneurship in universities, the knowledge economy, technology transfer, and investment in inventions—the conference emphasized transforming research outputs into startups and high-value products. It highlighted the pivotal role of universities in fostering entrepreneurship, building partnerships, and contributing to sustainable national development through practical, actionable recommendations.
King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, organized World Cities Day on November 2, 2025, to promote awareness of sustainable urban planning and livable cities in support of Saudi Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative included lectures, interactive activities, and an exhibition showcasing student projects, with participation exceeding 2,000 attendees.

King Abdulaziz University continues to expand its academic and research impact, support the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem, enhance student engagement on national platforms, and advance sustainability and social responsibility through strategic initiatives and high-impact events.

KingAbdulaziz University (female students) has achieved a distinguished sporting accomplishment by winning third place in the Saudi Federation for University Sports Futsal Championship, following intense competition that brought together 24 universities from across the Kingdom, hosted by Princess Nourah University.

King Abdulaziz University organized the 2025 World Children’s Day event under the theme “I Express… with Creative Fingertips,” as part of its community engagement efforts to promote children’s right to expression and creativity. The event featured an art exhibition showcasing the outcomes of the “Children’s Voices” project and was delivered in partnership with local and international organizations, with the participation of children from several schools in Jeddah, reflecting the University’s commitment to social responsibility and meaningful .

A community initiative was implemented in collaboration with the College of Environmental Sciences, the General Administration of Facilities, and the Research Excellence Center for Environmental Studies, with a contribution of 275 seedlings from Chalhoub Group, planted on campus in accordance with approved landscaping standards, under the supervision of the General Administration of Social Responsibility and Community Service.

Achievement of first place by King Abdulaziz University students in the Saudi Universities Sports Federation Taekwondo Championship, demonstrating institutional support for student sports activities.

King Abdulaziz University students have won third place in the Saudi University Sports Federation Goalball Championship for students with disabilities, held in Hail. This achievement highlights the university's commitment to advancing inclusive university sports and empowering female students .

King Abdulaziz University congratulates its students from the College of Engineering in Rabigh — Asil Al-Shaer, Retal Al-Mohammedi, Lina Al-Amoudi, Rouj Al-Amoudi, and Haneen Al-Biladi — for achieving 3rd place in the Innovation Excellence Award at the GSR International Student Research Conference Hackathon at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. This achievement comes after the team was selected among 24 finalists out of 800 international entries.

King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Endowment of the Arabic Language of the Qur’an, in collaboration with the Research Center of Excellence in Arabic Language, held a panel discussion titled “Linguistic Intelligence in Children and Methods for Its Development” on 31/12/2025 via Zoom.

King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Institute of Chinese Science and Culture and in collaboration with the Creators Center for Studies, Consulting, and Training, announced the launch of Chinese language courses on December 22, 2025. The courses aim to teach the language and develop linguistic and cognitive skills, contributing to cultural exchange and openness to global languages.

As part of its Education and Training efforts, King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, organized an educational cultural visit for its international students to landmarks in Jeddah, aiming to enhance Arabic language skills through experiential learning and cultural immersion.

Wiley Publishing, in collaboration with the Deanship of Scientific Research at King Abdulaziz University, held a roundtable titled “Enhancing Research Visibility,” with research office leaders from local universities. The session discussed open publishing, artificial intelligence, and research ethics, aiming to boost research impact and empower researchers.

The General Administration of Human Resources, in collaboration with the Deans and Department Supervisors Forum, held an introductory session on aligning academic disciplines for faculty members according to the Unified Saudi Classification Guide and its impact on identifying rare specialties, presented by Mr. Fahd Saad Al-Ghamdi, Director General of Human Resources.

The Creators Center at King Abdulaziz University, in collaboration with SEA Ventures, offered a free interactive workshop on design thinking and innovation, covering an introduction, steps for building creative solutions, and managing brainstorming sessions.

King Abdulaziz University Congratulates Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Juhani on Leading the Winning Team at the World’s Largest Hackathon

King Abdulaziz University gladly congratulates Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Juhani, from the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (Rabigh Branch), for leading the team behind the project “The Shadow 2025,” which secured first place globally at the Absher Hackathon, the world’s largest event of its kind, officially recognized by the Guinness World Records.

King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Deanship of Admission and Registration and the Endowment Fund, signed a cooperation agreement with Tamara to provide flexible digital payment solutions. The agreement enables students to pay their tuition fees through convenient installment options via online platforms. This step aligns with the University’s efforts to enhance its digital services, simplify financial procedures, and improve the overall student experience while supporting academic continuity.

First Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference at King Abdulaziz University
The university launched the First Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference with participation from 22 Saudi universities under the theme “Idea, Invention, and Impact,” featuring over 105 speakers, sessions, and workshops on innovation and entrepreneurship.

King Abdulaziz University congratulates student Salwa Abdulrahim from the Department of Information Technology on achieving a remarkable accomplishment, as her team’s project, Drone Witness, won 1st place in the Logistics track at the Jeddah Drones Hackathon.
The project aims to enhance traffic accident response efficiency by utilizing drone technology and artificial intelligence for real-time detection and analysis of incidents, contributing to faster response times and a positive impact on saving lives.

King Abdulaziz University announced the opening of registration for the Cybersecurity Diploma, which focuses on law, ethics, skills, and protection in the digital age. The program aims to equip specialists to effectively handle various cybersecurity threats.

Team “Sahabi” from the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology secured first place in the “Saudi OpenSource 2025” Hackathon for developing an AI-powered solution that enhances the migration of government applications to the cloud while reducing risks and costs.

Wiley Publishing organized a roundtable session in coordination with the Deanship of Scientific Research at King Abdulaziz University, with the participation of research offices leaders from some local universities.The session, titled "Open Publishing Roundtable: Enhancing Research Visibility," hosted Dr. John Morris and discussed innovation in open publishing and artificial intelligence, partnership opportunities, and research ethics.This enriching dialogue contributed to enhancing research impact, empowering researchers, and supporting collaboration among research communities.

King Abdulaziz University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Microsoft, launched the second edition of the training program “AI Fundamentals for Non-Specialist Faculty Members,” which was held virtually on 23–24 November 2025.

The Department of Computer Science at King Abdulaziz University, in collaboration with Oracle, organized the introductory session “Building Tomorrow’s Tech Leaders through Oracle Programs,” which highlighted opportunities for developing leadership skills in the field of technology.

King Abdulaziz University participated in the annual blood donation campaign launched by the Crown Prince – may God protect him – aiming to promote a culture of giving and support the healthcare sector, reaffirming its commitment to community initiatives and public health. In response to this initiative, the Blood Bank at the University Hospital announced the opening of blood donations 💉❤️.

King Abdulaziz University participated in the 8th Global Health Exhibition 2025, highlighting its innovations in health and digital solutions through two pavilions. Key initiatives included the Employee Well-Being Program and the Wiqayah early detection program. The Student Innovation Pavilion featured 141 digital health projects, with 24 ranking among the top nationwide and VITARC reaching the top six finalists.

In celebration of World Obesity Day, the Obesity and Healthy Lifestyle Unit launched an awareness program aimed at promoting public health and combating obesity by educating the community and equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools to adopt healthy lifestyles and reduce obesity-related complications.

The Annual Urology Surgery Forum and Andrology & Sexual Medicine Summit at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah launched on April 18, 2025. This prominent event is one of the leading specialized gatherings in the Kingdom, featuring a distinguished group of local and international experts, including Professor Stephen Wilson, a pioneer in sexual medicine surgery, along with many other honored guests from the local and international medical community.

King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, launched the World Mental Health Day 2025 activities under the theme “Access to Mental Health Services in Emergencies and Disasters.” The event aimed to raise awareness and provide specialized psychological support during crises.

The program included an awareness exhibition, a panel discussion titled “From Crisis to Recovery,” and training workshops focused on psychological first aid and immediate response to trauma.

The Health Promotion Center, in partnership with the Scientific Endowment and the College of Arts and Humanities, conducted a first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and defibrillation (AED) program for the general public, staff, and students.

In commemoration of World Diabetes Day
The Pediatric Nephrology Center of Excellence and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the university successfully performed continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) for a three-month-old infant and a one-and-a-half-year-old child after they were diagnosed with acute kidney failure. The emergency continuous renal dialysis was conducted as part of the neonatal and pediatric emergency dialysis program using the Carpediem device for the first time in Saudi Arabia and the region.

The University’s Health Promotion Center trained more than 1,000 beneficiaries through a first aid training program implemented in public boys’ and girls’ schools in Jeddah, aiming to enhance school community preparedness and strengthen essential emergency response skills.

King Abdulaziz University, represented by the #Health_Promotion_Center and in collaboration with the Saudi Celiac Society, organized an awareness session titled “Live Healthy… and Coexist with Celiac” as part of the #Health_Promoting_University program. The session featured a group of specialists in celiac disease, nutrition, and mental health to raise health awareness and support the quality of life for individuals with chronic conditions.

Under the patronage of the President of King Abdulaziz University, the University Hospital celebrates receiving the Alpha Gamma Mu Chapter Charter from Sigma Theta Tau International, becoming the third hospital outside the United States to earn this prestigious recognition.

The General Administration of Libraries at King Abdulaziz University was established on 4/7/1387H, with the aim of organizing and managing all university libraries. Since its inception, the administration has worked to provide knowledge and information resources that support the educational and research processes, offering distinguished services to students and faculty members, such as lending, reference searches, and academic guidance. The administration also focuses on updating and developing libraries in accordance with the latest technologies and systems in the field of information.
