King Abdul-Aziz University offers its members various awareness and training programs to enhance ethical values through its different sectors and various channels, including student clubs. One of the main objectives of these student clubs is:
To provide diverse activities, programs, and events that contribute to promoting ethical values, responsibility, and the development of a spirit of teamwork.

Examples of training programs and courses offered by King Abdulaziz University to enhance ethical values among its members, including students, faculty members, and administrators, include the following:
The Code of Professional Conduct Program organized by the Scientific Endowment on October 6-7, 2024, which covered the following topics:
- Understanding the fundamental ethical values in the workplace
- Building strong professional relationships based on trust and respect
- Raising awareness of the importance of adhering to laws and regulations
On November 26, 2024, the College of Computing and Information Technology at King Abdulaziz University (Female Section) organized a workshop titled "Work Ethics," which covered the following topics:
Defining work ethics and its importance
The basic principles of work ethics
Work ethics in daily practices
Challenges of work ethics and how to deal with them
On December 8, 2024, the University Development Center, in collaboration with the College of Pharmacy, offered a training course titled "Integrity in Scientific Research." The course targeted faculty members, graduate students, undergraduate students, diploma holders, and administrative and technical staff supporting the educational process.
On May 12, 2024, the University Development Center, in collaboration with the Research Excellence Center, offered a training course titled "Introduction to Ethics and Governance of Artificial Intelligence." The training course targeted faculty members and those in equivalent positions.
The Department of Educational Administration at the College of Education, in collaboration with the Activities Unit (Female Section), organized a workshop titled "Designing Standards and Indicators for Professional Ethics in Educational Administration." The course was presented by the Master’s students in Educational Administration, Class of 2024, on Sunday, May 12, 2024. The workshop targeted the staff and faculty members of King Abdulaziz University.
The Special Education Department at the College of Education, in collaboration with the Research Activities Committee (Female Section), organized a training course titled "The Student-Supervisor Relationship: Ethical and Scientific Dimensions" on Sunday, April 28, 2024.
Also, on Sunday, December 15, 2024, the University Development Center, in collaboration with the College of Pharmacy, offered a training course titled "Ethical Considerations in Human and Animal Research Experiments: Insights from Local Medical and Bioethics Committees (Cases and Evidence)."
The University Development Center, in collaboration with the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, offered a training course titled "Culture and Strategies of Diversity and Enhancing Teamwork Collaboration" on November 27, 2024.
Also, on Monday, November 15, 2024, King Abdulaziz University, represented by the University Development Center, in collaboration with the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority, and Clarivate Organization for the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey, organized a workshop titled "Ethics of Authorship and Publication." This workshop targeted faculty members, graduate students, and researchers.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Nicholas Tini, Senior Academic and Government Advisor at Clarivate Organization for the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey, and Dr. Ayman Aqeel, Senior Director of Academic and Government Affairs at Clarivate Organization for the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey.The workshop discussed various topics, including:
- Ethics of publication
- Research integrity
- Ethics of authorship disputes
- Understanding and identifying scientific plagiarism
- Procedures and standards for withdrawing scientific papers and the ethical consequences of violating publication standards
- Understanding data falsification and fabrication
- Case studies and examples
- Methods and resources to ensure the credibility and reliability of research
- Types of documents related to paper withdrawal and globally retracted publications, especially in the Middle East
- Reasons for withdrawals and examples, as well as authorship standards
- Common causes of authorship disputes (click here for details).
King Abdulaziz University also hosted thirty talented female students to participate in the "Gifted Enrichment Research Program" during the summer vacation. The program was conducted from June 30, 2024, to July 25, 2024, with the aim of "introducing students to the fundamentals of scientific research and its ethics." The program targeted female students in the 9th grade and first and second-year high school, enabling them to acquire the following skills:
- Ethical thinking and personal and social skills
- Citizenship values, pride, and national identity
- Creative thinking and innovation
King Abdulaziz University has also organized several events to spread and reinforce ethical values within the university community, including:
- A lecture titled "The Virtue of Integrity"
- A lecture titled "The Virtue of Optimism"
- A lecture titled "Self-Forgiveness: A Step Toward Inner Peace"
- 4. A lecture titled "Tolerance Unites Us... and Diversity Enriches Our Society"
The values of King Abdulaziz University are also shared on the university's website and are communicated through multiple awareness lectures provided by the Strategic Planning Center.
Strategic Planning Pioneers Program
It aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop appropriate strategies to achieve their institutional or personal goals. It also seeks to spread awareness and strategic thinking within the university and to prepare teams that will work on developing strategic plans for the university’s sectors, as well as to build and attract a new generation to lead the university's fifth strategic plan.
