Institutional Governance

Institutional governance at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) is structured to ensure transparency, accountability, and strategic decision-making in alignment with its mission and vision. The university operates under a well-defined governance framework that includes administrative, academic, and financial oversight. Further, KAU adheres to the regulations set by the university council affairs in Saudi Arabia, ensuring compliance with national higher education policies. Additionally, the university follows best practices in institutional governance, including risk management, quality assurance, and ethical standards to enhance academic excellence and research innovation. A general directorate for institutional Governance leads this.

Decree Dissemination

KAU has implemented a robust internal portal (Anjez) to facilitate the dissemination of decrees and decisions issued by our governing bodies. This portal provides our staff with seamless access to stay informed about the latest developments and decisions made by the university's leadership. Through this platform, we ensure that all relevant information reaches the right individuals promptly, promoting a cohesive and informed environment within the institution. Further, the portal broadcast all decisions and decrees via email on a daily bias.

In addition to our internal portal, KAU also believes in keeping the public well-informed about our decisions. To achieve this, we actively utilize various social media channels, including Twitter @KAU and Snapchat @ KAU, to share relevant updates with the wider community. Furthermore, our media center website serves as a reliable source for accessing official announcements, press releases, and news related to the university's governance.

Efficient Committee Policies

Recognizing the pivotal role of committees in driving efficiency and making well-informed decisions, KAU has endorsed comprehensive policy to ensure their effectiveness. Our committees comprise dedicated and qualified individuals from diverse backgrounds, enabling a multi-perspective approach to problem-solving and policy formation.The committee policies at KAU emphasize clear communication channels, defined roles and responsibilities, and periodic evaluations to assess their performance. This proactive approach helps us maintain an agile decision-making process and continually improve our operations in pursuit of excellence.

At KAU, we firmly believe that every member of our community should have a voice in shaping the future of our institution. To foster inclusivity and involve all our beneficiaries in the decision-making process, we have introduced a powerful surveying platform called "Estebanah". Estebanah offers a user-friendly interface that allows individuals at various levels within the university to participate in more than 14 annual surveys. These surveys cover a wide range of topics, including academics, facilities, campus life, and more. By actively seeking feedback from our stakeholders, we ensure that their perspectives are considered when making crucial decisions that impact the entire community.
